Most of the dive shops and several general stores sell any of the handful of dive guides. I have bought many and find that to be justified based on unique traits and dive objective.

Bonaire diving made easy is my favorite based on relevancy information and value for money. It is often updated too. I also enjoy some of the details and pretty maps in the Reef Start series. Sometimes I need that and sometimes I consult all the guides I have, again depending on my dive objective.

Your research should also consider asking around – dive shop staff are always helpful, although do bear in mind the treadmill of dive professionals can mean you ask someone who is quite new to Bonaire. You can ask other divers at dive sites.

As usual, considering hiring a guide.

In all cases, dive within your limits and of course, don’t dive if you are not sure. An afternoon or evening at the bar is always going to be a better choice over a lack of information or poorly planned, researched dive or night dive.
